Let’s get to work! 🙂 That may mean head to the place of employment, or get busy. Either way, there’s something to be said for getting something done. One rarely (if it is actually possible) experiences the satisfaction of a job well done, without putting in the work. Maybe you’re knee-deep in a project for something or someone? Perhaps you have a boss-or you are a boss…both entail working. Or, should.
Maybe you own your own business, work from home, or for someone else. Maybe you are in network marketing, and are bypassing the plan to work on a 9-5 for the rest of your life. Maybe you’re retired, or are not in the work force at all. A stay-at-home parent works. 🙂 A person who gives of their time volunteering, works. An artist who creates song, or paintings, or sculptures, or food-works. The types of work are limitless. The feeling you get from doing your best? So many. You may feel-Satisfied. Proud. Accomplished. Determined. Grateful. Some of the best sleep comes after a long day of hard work. I used to work in an ice-house. During the summer months we would handle over a ton of ice during the day. On those days, I remember counting the bags of ice stacked, or thrown-instead of sheep-as I drifted off to sleep.
What was your first job? If you have been in the world for more than 18 years, you are probably not doing what you did first. I remember stuffing envelopes for a network marketing company, helping take photos of food & shakes, etc. for their brochures, and wondering if the tanning beds would be good for me to try on the “off” days. I was a teen, then. Little did I know the profession of network marketing would be the explosive, amazing, well-documented “better way” choice, for the multitudes now. I am so grateful that my start was in my favorite profession (though I had no idea what it was-or meant-for years)!

My dad was an entrepreneur. I love that I got to see what that means, in person. Did he work hard? Every day. Sometimes waking at 3 or 4 in the morning to get started, depending on the route, and people he was serving. Over the years he had various sales routes and sold bread, chips, cakes, pickles, candy, etc. He was the best salesman I have ever met, and never met a “stranger.” I remember he was always earning gifts and tokens for contests won as a bread supervisor-later turned entrepreneur. We learned from an early age, that there is always something one can say to a person nearby, to start a conversation, and bring a smile. I love that his example was one of friendly, smiling, laughing connection. He believes God is in control of every aspect of our lives, and lived that belief out loud, in his daily work…and worship. To this day, he is always looking for a way to bring a smile to someone’s face. He is 75, and I love him. So grateful to have that spirit running through my veins. He showed us what work-and work ethic, meant. He showed us what being your own boss meant. He showed us that people are your product, and to love them…with wisdom. Did I have a perfect childhood? Of course not! (I was there, right?) None of us are perfect, and of that I’m blatantly aware. I also understand that everyone has a story. Yours may be unlike mine, or may be similar. No matter what you’ve been through, you have a story. You have a past. You may have experiences unlike any other, or like every other. The more you’ve endured? The more you can be used to reach others with your winning spirit. Your champion attitude. Your overcomer mindset. That kind of persistence takes work. There’s that word again. WORK. What if you haven’t gone through tough times? Then it takes work to believe you still have a story to tell. Either way, there is a story inside us all, and someone is waiting to hear it!
In the book “RICH” we read: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” -Steve Jobs

What have we done today? Whatever it is-or that we’re planning to do…
Let’s get to work!
