Being from a strict upbringing, it’s not a subject we talked about when were children, often. Or ever. But…as kids often do, we did find out what it meant. Of course, our parents told us everything we needed to know, as well.
Now, one only has to search the word, or watch tv, go to the movies, read, or even ask almost anyone-of “any age”- to find out. There are good things, bad things, ugly things, people and circumstances. Many times those who have gone through bad things, people, and circumstances-take that out on the next generation. Even the next sexual partner.
In such a blatant “swipe right” kind of society, gone are the innocent days. Gone are the days of not knowing-or not trying anything-and-everything that is offered. Today, sex is treated like a new pair of shoes. Not a good fit? Try another pair! The truth is, sex is not just a physical connection. One is connected in both the body and the mind.
Kudos to the moms and dads who navigate these waters. Kudos to the kids who make the decision to treat sex as it’s meant to be. Kudos to you (though you didn’t start out that way) who have decided your future will be different.
Yes, there’s good, bad, and ugly. But you can choose to marry. Good.
